Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions — Europe-wide ordering

Is Terra only for France?

No. Terra Australis Technical is operated from France but supplies specialist Australian 4WD products to customers across Europe, subject to destination-specific customs, compliance and freight availability. The products are generally shipped direct from Australia, not from France.

What does the estimated price on each product mean?

Select your EU country using the site-wide selector. We show an indicative goods-only amount with that country's standard VAT rate applied. This is an affordability guide, not a final delivered selling price or a VAT receipt. Freight, duty, courier fees and any import VAT on those charges may add to the final amount. Before accepting payment we confirm the complete written quotation and who collects each charge.

Does the estimate or final quotation include VAT?

The written offer states exactly which VAT, if any, Terra collects and which import VAT/duty may be collected by the customs authority or courier. The amount depends on the destination and import procedure; it is not simply French VAT because our business is based in France. See VAT & Import Charges.

Is VAT decided by which port the goods first enter?

Not necessarily. Where an item travels under customs transit, it may first arrive in one country and then be customs-cleared in another. The applicable VAT treatment follows the actual import/customs procedure and relevant supply rules, not just the first airport or seaport.

Who pays VAT and customs duties?

Usually we quote DAP: you pay Terra for the product and quoted international freight; the courier normally separately collects any import VAT, duty and clearance fees from you on delivery/import. If a true tax-paid/DDP method is agreed, the written quote explicitly explains prepaid charges and payment responsibilities.

What about United Kingdom customers?

For direct consumer deliveries to Great Britain in consignments with an intrinsic value of £135 or less, UK VAT generally needs to be charged by the seller at the point of sale. Higher-value imports generally follow ordinary import arrangements. Northern Ireland has separate rules. We check the relevant VAT process before accepting your order.

Will Terra add VAT to freight?

International carriage may form part of a VAT/customs tax base, but import VAT and duty are not simply an arbitrary surcharge to shipping. The quote separates product, actual freight, any seller-collected VAT and the estimated customs charges that the carrier might collect.

How do I order?

Use Request a delivered quote, including the product/variant, vehicle model, engine/year, delivery country and postcode. We confirm availability, lead time, freight, known import requirements and payment arrangements before you commit.

How long will it take?

Made-to-order airboxes and snorkels may require roughly 2–10 weeks for fabrication before transit. Other products depend on Australian workshop availability. Your individual quote includes current estimates.

Do Australian items always fit European 4WD models?

No. EU engines, facelift years, left-hand-drive layouts and emissions equipment may differ. We check fitment before confirming an uncertain sale and recommend professional fitting for safety-critical recovery, steering and suspension components.

Can I cancel or return an item?

Applicable consumer cancellation and statutory guarantees remain in place. Making a standard catalogue item after your order does not itself remove withdrawal rights. See Returns & Warranty.
