Product Safety, Vehicle Fitment & Direct Imports
Terra Australis Technical is a France-based European supplier. Products are normally supplied to order and dispatched directly from the Australian manufacturer to your country, without warehousing in France. Direct dispatch does not diminish our responsibilities as the seller to consumers.
Manufacturer identification
We work with named Australian manufacturers and identify the relevant brand on each product listing. Manufacturer details supplied or independently verified as of October 2026:
- Canna Fabrication — trading name of Liberty Aust Pty Ltd (ACN 653 292 669); 190 Arundel Road, Keilor VIC 3036, Australia; info@cannafab.com.au; manufacturer website.
- George4x4 — George Lifting Pty Ltd / George4x4; Unit 2, 15 Overlord Place, Acacia Ridge QLD 4110, Australia; sales@george4x4.com.au; manufacturer website.
- KINGPIN Fab — 173 Marburg Quarry Road, Marburg QLD, Australia; rick@kingpindesignandfab.com.au; manufacturer website. KINGPIN's supplier contact and any component manufacturer must be verified for each item, especially if sourced from another original manufacturer.
EU responsible economic operator and required technical evidence
EU Regulation 2023/988 (General Product Safety Regulation, or GPSR) and any specific vehicle-part legislation may require identification of an EU-based responsible economic operator, accurate manufacturer details, product identification, safety warnings, and appropriate technical documentation.
Formal EU responsible-person/economic-operator arrangements are being checked product-by-product. Terra's EU business contact is Steven Puckering EI, 16 rue Armand Barbès, 87300 Bellac, France, steve@terraaustralistechnical.com. This is a customer safety and traceability contact; it does not by itself imply that an Australian manufacturer's formal EU responsible-person mandate has been concluded. Where such an operator is required, the actual confirmed operator's details will be provided with the product offer and accompanying documents before the item can be sold.
Before confirming a consumer sale, we review as relevant: manufacturer's postal/electronic contacts, product/model identifier, material specification, intended use and installation instructions, suitable-language warnings, traceable batch/serial identification, relevant test or strength documentation, EU conformity obligations where applicable, manufacturer or operator responsibility, and the rules on fitment and road use in the destination country. No declaration of CE compliance, road homologation or recovery load capacity is inferred from Australian origin or supplier marketing alone.
Vehicle fitment and road use
Suspension, steering, braking, recovery and structural accessories can be safety-critical. Suitable fitting to an Australian-market model does not establish compliance for a left-hand-drive or EU-homologated vehicle. Changes to steering geometry, suspension, crash structures, emissions, intake or external protrusions may need individual national approval or technical inspection, depending on the vehicle and destination. Professional installation and a vehicle-specific fitment check may be required. An item described as intended for off-road use is not automatically lawful to use on public roads.
Recovery gear: do not use without the manufacturer's product-specific load limitations, usage instructions and safe operating conditions. Breaking strength and working load limit (WLL) are not interchangeable. Never use equipment for lifting people or suspended loads unless expressly designed and certified for the intended task.
Import documentation and customs
Our shipment documentation must accurately identify the goods, correct customs classification (HS/tariff code), real transaction value for customs, verified non-preferential country of origin, parcel contents and the seller/consignee. Australian-made, Australian-branded and shipped-from-Australia are different concepts for country-of-origin purposes. The carrier's customs representative and the actual importer of record must be identified before we accept an order.
For most DAP orders, customs and the courier separately collect applicable import VAT, duty and clearance fees from the consignee. Where a seller-collected VAT or duty-paid model is required, it must be expressly confirmed and documented instead. Read our VAT, import duties and delivered pricing guide.
Safety concern or product incident
Stop using any suspect component and contact steve@terraaustralistechnical.com, supplying your item, vehicle, photographs, batch/serial details if available, and description of the issue. We will investigate with the manufacturer and, where required, notify the competent authorities, take corrective action and arrange consumer remedies under applicable law.
Product availability
The website is a quotation-led catalogue. An item being visible on the site does not mean technical documentation, European road-use approval or responsible-operator documentation has been verified. We do not confirm an order or take payment for a product where a legally required safety or import condition remains unresolved. Product-specific safety data will be added to the relevant listing after validation.
